CHICAGO - Officer Michael Ciancio,  anudder blameless defender of the public has been caught up in a FBI sting.  Allegedly, Ciancio is on tape shaking down Chicago tow truck drivers for bribes, diverting buisiness to the drivers in exchange for, uh, “gratuity”.

Allegedly, he’s on tape doin’ it:

At the direction of the FBI, the undercover tow-truck driver began to stall on his payoffs, annoying Ciancio, authorities said.

“I didn’t hear from you, I says what the [expletive] happened, you know,” Ciancio was quoted as saying. “I thought it was like Christmas and I looked under the tree, there was no gift . . . know what I mean?”

Now, come on.  Anybody can see this is a frame up - not to mention a vicious attack on Christmas.

Russian Police Beat Bribery Activist

Posted by Officer Bob

In central Russia, one way to keep warm is to enrage the local highway police, who will more than happily provide a savage beating when challenged about repeated bribe-taking and roadside shakedowns.

Well, okay, police protests in Russia won’t really keep you warm, but the payback from the local officers will keep your mind off the cold.

Whatta world we’re livin’ in. It turns out that some guy down in Atlanta sold defective equipment to cops.

What gets me here is the very idea that a US company would sell broken gear to the cops or the army. What’s more, they allegedly took cops and Pentagon people to strip clubs to further the fraud.

Boy, it’s a few bad apples that spoil the whole bunch, innit?
